Veronica Mars is back, which means so are we! I apologize for not putting up a link to our podcast (or should I say, rantcast) on last week's public service announcement -- I mean, episode.

Our much cheerier thoughts on this week's episode are also up! Check them out at our site, on iTunes or on Podomatic. I don't even know what that last one is! Apologies for the poor audio quality on my end, but we do have sterling sound clips of all of Paul Rudd's singing, and that should be worth the price of admission alone!

While listening to our latest podcast, I realized I totally zoned and forgot to mention two interesting pieces of musical trivia about the episode. Its title, "Debasement Tapes," is a pun on the Bob Dylan album "The Basement Tapes." Also, in my favorite scene (aka Mars vs. Ratner III), Veronica's "That's a thing that makes you go... hmm" line is a reference to the C & C Music Factory song (well, originally. That phrase pops up everywhere nowadays).

A few more links and announcements:

The only way we can possibly improve on our greatness is by getting feedback, so please, take a minute to fill out our listeners' survey.

Next week's episode looks like it will feature the real-life grassroots organization Invisible Children, a group dedicated to raising awareness and aid for children in northern Uganda who live under constant danger of being kidnapped by the rebel Lord's Resistance Army and forced into becoming soldiers (killers). They've produced an amazing, moving documentary as well as several other media campaigns, which is impressive considering the group was founded just a couple of years ago by three young surfer guys from San Diego (one of whom is Ryan Hansen's brother-in-law). Please take a moment to check out IC's website, view some of their media and educate yourself.

Sweeeeet.

Dang, thanks for those insanely nonevident tidbits from last week's ep. I knew you were useful for something. :P

Okay so note to self... screen shots to get: Logan's face on cake (or, cakeface) and Rob Thomas as bandmate-slash-caveman.

HAH ok I just made that last bit up randomly (it's late) but it reminded me that they're putting together a show for the fall lineup that is actually about those Geico cavemen. I kid you not.

The Geico caveman pilot apparently BOMBED with the suits, so I'm not sure if it will see the light of day ... not surprising, given that it was a TV series concept based on an (admittedly funny) CAR INSURANCE ADVERTISEMENT CONCEPT.
